Tweeling

TweeLing is a memory game consisting of 70 cards, with photographs, showing the living environment of elderly people suffering from dementia. It is very important to stimulate brain activity. TweeLing keeps the conversation between people going in an easy, accessible way. It might be a comfortable way for young people to talk to a grandmother or grandfather, suffering from dementia and to reminisce about the past. The game is meant for elderly who live and recreate in homes for elderly people, or still live at home. The game was released in 2014 under the wings of Stichting Serenade. The concept was developed by Karin van Paassen.

Voetstappen naar een nieuw leven

On May 23 2013 a plaque was revealed in the departure hall of the Stena Line in Hoek van Holland to commemorate the Jewish Kindertransports of the thirties, at the spot where the children boarded the ships. Children from the Hook ‘today’ drew stories and images from the Jewish children ‘back then’ on the railway platform.

The clip was made by Marieke v.d. Lippe. It is an emotional mix of images of the Kindertransports and a poem by Ed van Berkel.

Welzin

In 2006 the Stichting Vormlust organised a sensory experience for the inhabitants of Humanitas Bergweg in Rotterdam, a home for elderly people. The artists and designers, Bas Kortmann, Anke Wijnja, Liesbeth Bonekamp, Marielle Wichards and Arnout Visser, experimented how they could contribute to the wellbeing of the inhabitants through taste, smell, images and sound. The results were a scented clock with comfortable armchairs, colourful shovelboards with obstacles, lamps made of old dishes/bowls and the succesful birdbank. Fun, conversations, action, lectures and reminiscing! The concept was developed by Jolanda Branderhorst and Karin van Paassen.
